Holly Pen Blank
Holly's snow white color makes it perfect for decorative and ornamental items such as pen turnings. Due to its nearly invisible grain, it is occasionally used as a stand-in for ivory, and, ironically, also used for the black keys on a piano as a substitute for ebony. This is because it accepts stains and dyes very evenly, an attribute that may be used to good advantage for those wanting to experiment with different finishes.
